Who is this class for?

Dogs who are demanding of people's attention and/or have poor house manners.

Does your dog bark at you, paw or nudge you to get attention? Does he take things that are not his (off the counters or around the house)? Does he play keep away in the house or yard? Does he jump on you and other family members? Does your dog seem to listen to some family members, but not others? Does he mouth your hands when you're trying to handle him or grab things out of your hands? Is he destructive when you are busy with household tasks? If you said yes to many of these questions, this is the class for you!

Through this class you will learn how to...

  • Implement a daily training protocol to establish new habits with your dog.
  • Teach your dog to defer to you and focus on you in the face of distractions.
  • Help your dog make calm and controlled choices (your dog will thank you for it).
  • Reduce conflict and frustration.
  • Create a relationship with your dog where you're working together.

*The first week is a people-only orientation class. Be prepared to implement changes in your home and bring all family members so that consistency can be achieved.

Reactive Rover Class

Who is this class for?

Dogs who bark, growl and/or lunge at other dogs on leash.

For many dogs seeing other dogs on a walk is a strong emotional trigger for growling, barking, pulling and lunging on leash. If you dread going for walks with your dog, this is the class for you. This class is for dogs who struggle to remain calm in the presence of other dogs because they are worried about other dogs. Together we will work on desensitization & counter conditioning, BAT, and CAT protocols to help your dog learn how to be calm around other dogs. You will join other pet parents and their dogs to work together, supporting one another and building your skills as a team with your dog.

Through this class you will learn how to...

  • Anticipate a reaction coming
  • Help your dog feel more comfortable in the presence of other dogs
  • Get out of sticky situations
  • Find low stress places to walk your dog
  • Be your dog's best advocate

4-weeks: $150

*The first class is a people-only class.

Shy Guy Class

Who is this class for?

Dogs who are worried about people and shy away from or bark at strangers.

Is your dog shy around new people? Does your dog hide behind you or bark when strangers are nearby? Does he retreat to a safe place in the house or hide behind furniture when company is over? Are you worried that your dog might feel unsafe when new people approach you on a walk? Does your dog hesitate to try new things or go new places? If so, this is the class for you! (Dogs who are dog reactive will not be appropriate for this class and should first take the Reactive Rover classes.)

Through this class you will learn how to...

  • Keep your dog feeling safe around new people
  • "Listen" to your dog's body language
  • Build your dog's confidence with new places and objects through slow thoughtful introductions
  • Change the ways that we treat shy dogs like social dogs that break down your relationship
  • Create a relationship of trust and support for your dog (without pressure)
  • Teach skills that will help your dog feel brave!

4-weeks: $130

*The first week is a people-only orientation class.
